Controls

  • Hover over a character in the editor to see its bones.
  • Click a bone to select it.
  1. Individual Bones: When selected, you can manipulate one bone at a time. (e.g. a forearm)
  2. Full Part: When selected, you can manipulate an entire group of bones together. (e.g. a left leg)
  3. Move: Click and drag the yellow circle to move the selected part (relative to the current view of the character). You can change the direction of movement by moving the camera to view the character at a different angle.
  4. Rotate: Click and drag the yellow circle to rotate the selected part (relative to the current view of the character). You can change the angle of rotation by moving the camera to view the character at a different angle.
  5. Scale: Click and drag the yellow triangles to make the selected part bigger or smaller.
  6. Show XYZ: Allows you to move / rotate / scale a bone along an individual axis.
For example, scaling along the green axis would lengthen the jaw bone without making it thicker.
  7. Use World Axes: Allows you to move / rotate using world axes - straight up, down, left, right, etc.
This may be helpful for turning a character on its base without messing up its other rotation, or for moving a character straight down to place it on a base.
  8. Reset: Resets the bone or part back to its home position.
